The Pilot Reliability Certification program is a comprehensive human factors curriculum designed to provide individual aviators a world class understanding of human error causes and countermeasures in support of reliable mission accomplishment. Worldwide, nearly 80% of all aviation accidents are caused by human error, the PRC is laser targeted to reduce this risk. All courses are available online and can be taken at the student’s own pace or as scheduled workshops. Usually two days of workshop training are required to achieve certification.

The essence of the PRC lies in three pillars of instructional design – deep content, sequencing of information and rigorous evaluation. Over 175 sources were used in creating this curriculum. Then, the courses were designed in a sequence that – for the first time – allows a carefully crafted systems approach to the complexity of human performance in aviation.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the only systemic and linked human factors curriculum in the world that is designed to reduce individual error. Five of the six courses at the 100-level are built upon knowledge mastered in previous lessons and therefore must be taken in sequence. PRC 101: Flight Discipline is the cornerstone course for the entire program of study.

Additionally, the PRC program has now gained approval from the National Business Aviation Association as fulfilling the requirements for their Professional Development Program HR9 (Human Resource Objective 9) and any students that complete the course are eligible for PDP certificates of achievement from the NBAA.

The 200-level PRC courses are designed for aviators interested in heightening their situational awareness, furthering their careers in aviation instruction, enhancing safety management system (SMS) effectiveness, and broadening their leadership skills. Cost of the program is $499 (USD) which covers all six courses at the 100-level plus online continuation support. PRC 200-level courses are priced individually at $99 each, with a discount for 100-level graduates.
